Abstract

In the teaching of school geometry, there are difficulties that hinder meaningful learning, such as the limited depth given to this area in the curriculum, the tendency to use expository strategies, and the low integration of educational resources. For this reason, the present research aims to analyze students’ perceptions of their learning process regarding the circumference and the circle, based on the implementation of a didactic strategy grounded in the BARRISO pedagogical model. The study follows a qualitative approach, with a phenomenological design and a descriptive-interpretative character. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews with seven high school students who participated in the didactic strategy based on the BARRISO model. The findings reveal positive evaluations of the implemented activities, particularly regarding motivation, understanding of geometric concepts, and the promotion of collaborative work. The reported difficulties were minimal and mainly related to the interpretation of statements and the initial use of digital tools. It is concluded that the BARRISO model fosters learning by strengthening visualization, argumentation, and spatial geometric thinking. Its adoption is considered relevant for reorienting teaching practices and consolidating innovative strategies in geometry education.
